PwBD reservation is horizontal and falls within the state totals: Hearing Impaired (HI) 32, Orthopedically Challenged (OC) 30, Visually Impaired (VI) 39 and Intellectual Disability (ID) 24. Educational Qualification
- A degree (graduation) in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.
- You must have passed graduation not earlier than 1 January 2023 and not later than 1 September 2026 (both days inclusive).
- Candidates who completed training or have job experience of one year or more after completing their qualification are not eligible.
- Anyone who has already done apprenticeship training (with Canara Bank or any other organisation), is currently doing it, or was terminated due to their own fault, is not eligible.
- Ex-servicemen and disabled ex-servicemen will not be engaged as apprentices, and there is no reservation for them.
Age Limit and Relaxation
Age is calculated as on 1 September 2026. The age limit is 20 to 28 years, so you must be born between 2 September 1998 and 1 September 2006 (both days inclusive).

The maximum age of 28 years applies to General and EWS candidates. SC/ST/OBC (NCL) relaxation can be combined with only one of the other relaxation categories in the table. Candidates claiming relaxation must submit original certificates at document verification.

The stipend is paid after adjusting loss of pay, if any. Apprentices get no other allowances or benefits. They are entitled to one casual leave for each completed month, up to 12 in a year, and can take only 4 at a time. PF, ESI and bonus provisions do not apply. After training, NATS joint certification is awarded.
Selection Process
The notification does not mention a written exam or interview. Selection works as follows:
- A state-wise merit list is prepared from the marks or percentage in 12th standard (HSC/10+2) or Diploma. Ties are ranked by age in descending order.
- Minimum qualifying marks in 12th/Diploma are 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD). Fractions are ignored, so 59.99% counts as below 60%.
- Document verification for candidates in the merit list.
- Local language test for the state you chose, held during document verification. You are exempt if your 10th or 12th mark sheet or certificate shows you studied that language.
- Medical fitness as per the Bank’s requirement.
If your marks are in CGPA or OGPA, convert them to percentage in the application and be ready to produce a certificate from the board or university stating its conversion norms. How to Apply for Canara Bank Apprentice 2026
- Register on the NATS apprenticeship portal and complete your profile to 100%. Only candidates with a 100% complete profile can apply.
- Note down your NATS enrollment ID. You must enter it in the Bank’s application form.
- Keep your scanned photo, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration, and a valid personal email ID and mobile number ready.
- From 1 October 2026, open the Canara Bank website and go to Careers, then Recruitment, then the FY 2026-27 Graduate Apprentice link. You can also use the direct application link below.
- Click Click Here for New Registration and fill in your basic details. Note the provisional registration number and password.

- Applying under OBC without a valid non-creamy layer certificate. Creamy-layer candidates must select General.
- Choosing a state whose local language you have not studied and cannot clear in the test.
