Apprenticeship slots are offered across BE/B.Tech, Diploma, Degree (BBA, B.Com, BCA/B.Sc, BA) and Trade/ITI categories such as Fitter, Turner, Welder, Machinist, Electrician, COPA, Mechanic Diesel, Carpenter and more. Candidates must have passed their final qualifying examination within three years from the closing date of application. Only full-time, regular qualifications from a recognised institute/university are accepted; part-time, correspondence, distance-education or online-mode qualifications are not eligible.

Age Limit

Candidates must have completed 17 years of age at the time of application. The official notification does not mention an upper age limit or any age relaxation for reserved categories for this apprentice engagement. Candidates who are awaiting their final examination result, or who have already undergone or are undergoing apprenticeship training in any organisation, are not eligible to apply.

Selection Process

  1. Screening of applications based on eligibility and prescribed qualification.
  2. A category-wise merit list is prepared for each trade at each location, in a ratio of 1:5 against the number of training slots.
  3. Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification through their registered email. No TA/DA is paid for this.
  4. A provisional merit list is prepared based on the document verification outcome and marks obtained in the final qualifying examination.
  5. Offer of Engagement is issued in merit order, subject to availability of training slots; remaining eligible candidates are placed on a Reserved Waiting Panel maintained at five times the slot strength.
  6. Engagement is confirmed after the candidate accepts the tripartite apprenticeship contract on the NATS/NAPS portal and submits a medical fitness certificate and police verification certificate.

There is no written examination or personal interview in this selection process.

How to Apply: Step-by-Step Process

  1. Register on NAPS or NATS: ITI candidates must register at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in (NAPS). Degree/Diploma engineering candidates must register at nats.education.gov.in (NATS), and complete their profile with all required documents.
  2. Note the enrolment number: After registering, keep the NAPS/NATS enrolment number ready.
  3. Apply on the BEML portal: Go to recruitment.bemlindia.in and select Apprentices, then Login/Registration.
